Hi,

We are facing issue in the DNN version 9.10.2, below are the error details

General Exception: AbsoluteURL DefaultDataProvider DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider DotNetNuke
Message:Unable to create Lucene writer (lock file is in use). Please recycle AppPool in IIS to release lock.

We have checked the admin logs and the error logged 50 times in a second and causing database timeout. Could you please have a look and provide the solution.

Did you double check if the app pool account has modify permissions in the folder Lucene uses (/App_Data/Search)?

Happy DNNing!

Congrats on posting!

This also sounds like a permissions issue to me.  🤔

2 other things to consider:
- The scheduler running too often
- The application pool running multiple worker processes (IIS -> Application Pool -> Advanced Settings -> Maximum Worker Processes = 1

Another possible cause that comes to my mind is the virus scanner - you should define an exception, even if you use MS Defender.

Happy DNNing!

Congrats, your posts are really liked!

If you have an specific application pool for this website you can also look at the amount of MB assigned to the pool, it could be that it's not enough MB for the amount of traffic and it could be part of the problem.
