Hi eveyone,

I'm trying to save a page I already created with content as a template in order to expedite the creation of several pages similar to this one. I get an error "Error accessing to the templates folder" when I hit the "save" button and I can't create the new template.

I checked the admin logs but no errors logged. Any ideas how can I troubleshoot this problem?

Regards,

Did you double check folder permissions? (I know you did, just in case...)

Happy DNNing!

Yes Sir I did!

Well, I figured this out yesterday; this message shows up when you already have an existent template with the name you're trying to use to create the new one. I modified the name of the file and I was able to save the template with no problem.

Regards.

This sounds like a bug to me.  We should have instead see a message stating that the file name already exists, and to choose a new file name.  If you have the time and are willing, it would be a good idea to add this as a bug in GitHub.

Though, one of those below might be related.  🤔

I just realized I didn't figure this out yet! I missed my morning coffee today and I just noticed I was checking a total different project. Files permissions are okay but as a troubleshooting step I'm going to reset file permissions in order to check if this actually fixes the problem, I'll let you guys know the outcome.

Will, there is no bug to report; I just went into several other websites and created a new template, then I tried to create another new template using the same name of the previous template, no error shows up; the new template overwrites the existing template file; but, either way I do believe the UI should display like a warning/confirmation message if there is an existent template with the name you're trying to use before you actually hit save and overwrite the existent template file, I'll log this one out in GitHub.
