    Thanks Will!

Very helpful information.  Our interest in using Telerik UI tools is because we're thinking much of the functionality is there and it will reduce our development time.

Not being a developer myself, do you see any concerns using Telerki UI tools as DNN upgrades into new versions?

@reipt, I hadn't seen your question yet but I still use Telerik the ASP.NET AJAX edition. The radgrid in particular is a solution for me and if I can't figure it out myself, their support works great.

It's really difficult to say...  On one hand, DNN generally doesn't get in the way of integrating UI frameworks/tools like these, as long as they're compatible with webforms in some way.  As an example, you don't want to try and use MVC-based ones.  However, as both DNN and the chosen tools (Telerik, in this case) continue to evolve, there's no way to tell if either software solution may make a choice to cause some sort of non-compatibility, or if that choice is made for us by Microsoft for that matter.

By the way, this is a good reason to use an AJAX / SPA approach that's "closer to the metal," such as React, Angular, and Vue.  Your work will be completely portable across multiple platforms.

As an added bonus, you might be able to re-use most of the work across devices using this approach if you were to base it on Angular.  Because, much of the work could be repurposed as a mobile app, using something like Ionic

This was even a presentation about how to do this by David Poindexter (nvisionative) at a previous DNN Summit event.  💪🏽

Here is something I did not expect, Telerik will(and did) supply version 2020.1.114 to protect against CVE-2019-18935.

I put in a forum thread at Telerik and they changed it to a ticket and provided a licensed file!

If I put in the new dlls from Telerik will the deprecated DNN wrapped controls use it automatically? Or will I need to change any DNN wrapped controls to use Telerik controls(which isn't a big deal to do)?

Sorry, it might be a bit late, can I download that version 2020.1.114? can you send me or give me the download link? thanks

I don't have a download link. It started as a forum thread at the Telerik site. They converted the thread to a ticket and then supplied a licensed file in that ticket. You'll need to contact Telerik directly for the file or purchase a new license. I think they will supply the 2020.1.114 file to site owners vs software providers(who will need a license agreement). We've since eliminated the need for Telerik and are running on a clean install to ensure that there were no more ties to the Telerik files.
