New Around Here

    We noticed a new mailprovider has been added, this is probably the cause of these escaped emails.
    Does anyone know how to solve this issue? We can't find any settings that influence this behaviour

    <mail defaultProvider="CoreMailProvider">
    <providers>
    <clear />
    <add name="CoreMailProvider" type="DotNetNuke.Services.Mail.CoreMailProvider, DotNetNuke" hideCoreSettings="False" />
    <add name="MailKitMailProvider" type="DotNetNuke.Services.Mail.MailKitMailProvider, DotNetNuke" hideCoreSettings="False" />
    </providers>
    </mail>

      Pascal,

      there is no "new" mail provider, but sending emails has been changed to a provider model in DNN 9.9.0. Beside the core mail provider that handles emails as usual for a long time, a provider for MailKit, a very popular mail-client library, has been added.

      In my understanding: if you have not changed anything (and it looks like you're using the core mail provider as the default provider) this should not be the reason for vanished emails. I would suggest to inspect the log files (both of your DNN installation, incl. the log4net files and your SMTP service).

      Happy DNNing!
