Try to setup a clean DNN 10.1.2 website and always get a timeout during the big INSERT statement of the table "lists". The statement inserts about 5000+ rows into the database and the DNN InstallWizard throws an error after approximately 40 seconds. I can see that about 2800+ rows are already inserted. So I know that everythings works (Website/SQL-Server/Rights/...) but it just takes to long.
Where can I increase the timeout for the complete install script or the insert command. I tried a lot of settings in the webconfig and the SQL-Server the last two days but find no solution. Can anybody please help me and guide me a way where to increase the time limit for the installation wizard script. Thanks in advance for any recommendations. I am also wondering that the 5000 rows are a problem for the server, because it is a VM with 4 vCPUs and 24GB RAM (OS is MS Windows Server 2025 Standard, SQL-Server is MSSQL2022 Express).
Regards, Wolfgang
Posted By Daniel Valadas on 11/13/2025 7:59 PM I have installed DNN without issues on way worst machines, the whole install process should take 30 seconds to maybe a minute or 2. I would investigate for server performance issues...
Yes, this is a weird issue. That server is way faster than my local VM and I have never seen this TBH.
