    Hi All,

I have downloaded DotNuke from path https://github.com/dnnsof...nn.Platform/releases  and have installed version 9.11.0 on my local IIS. Here is my query

    • Using “Super Users” account I have given  permission to users belonging to ”Registered Users” role to deploy specific custom module to pages. This custom module is developed in ASP.Net project with .ascx extension.
    • Such users are able to add that module to content pages in edit mode.
    • In “Module Settings > Permissions” tab of page I have selected “Edit” checkbox for “Registered Users” role in that module.
    • However in edit mode of page user belonging to “Registered Users” is not able to edit this custom module content.

    Regards

You shouldn't assign any editing permissions of any kind to the Registered Users role.  This means that all someone has to do is create a user account, and this would allow them to edit (and deface) the website.  I'm very confused as to what you're trying to actually do.

        Hi Will,

Thanks for clarification on this. I got your point but this problem is happening even when Administrator create a custom role and user belonging to that role have rights to edit certain pages and modules.

I have noticed that such users can edit pages but can't do changes in such modules.

Note : Even user with Administrators role can't edit such modules, only "Super User" can edit such such modules.

        Please help me on this.

        Regards

To DNN, Edit permission means being allowed to modify what DNN knows about on the page. So set themes/containers/add modules/remove modules.

A custom module is not part of DNN, it's an extension. Custom modules often have their own permissions, often related to a custom role or roles. Those permissions control what the custom module will allow you to do with it.

It sounds to me that your questions about editing content need to go to the custom module author, or its documentation.
          Thanks,
          Richard

I'm sorry, but I'm still thoroughly confused as to what you're trying to accomplish.  All you need to do is go to any permission grid, assign the role to it, and then be sure people are in that role.  Whatever the permission(s) was in the grid column(s) you chose will be applied to the role, and the role will apply it to the members of that role, but only when they're logged in.
