Hello and thank you for your help in advance,

I am testing a new site developed with dnn 9.7.2.  It seems that yahoo and gmail may be not delivering the verification email because I tested using another domain and it worked.  Hoping someone has a solution to this?  I have tested smtp settings and it works.

My module that I built sends an email with verification fine - but DNN only functionality just dosnt seem to send or Yahoo/Gmail is to blame for this?

Possibly the mails get flagged as spam?

        Hi Joe,

Unfortunatly no, both gmail and yahoo were not in my spam folders.

Its like they were never sent.  Could possibly ssl be the issue - The site and email are not using it right now.  Although I wrote a module that sends emails and they go through to both gmail and yahoo.  Just verification email so far I noticed arent getting sent or bounced.

Are you able to look at logs for your SMTP server?

            Yes,

Please look below - I tried changing the host email to one that matchs the domain - it was set to another address - but same thing?

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its

It looks like the error message you posted identifies the problem and tells you how to look for answers and help.

The solution was to change host email address - my version of dnn 9.7.2 uses the actual email address from user table to send verification and password reset links.  I believe I read that it should be using the host email address in hostsettings table.  I could be wrong - if so please let me know.

Host Email address is used for messages about site creation and expiration.
Registration emails are sent using email address of the primary site administrator.
