OK, found something different! Went to one of the site I just installed and have not started working on it yet. The editor works on www.brilliantbeading.com but not on www.usmvmcc4.org. So it must be somethings in my skin/theme I am using very old data for that back oh like 7 years old. The bad code has got to be in here. www.dalegraham.com/problemskin.zip Use Gold-Layout1 and
Gold-Layout1-1

Right, that's what I responded to. I checked both sites and saw that the second one has the wrong doctype, which can be corrected with the file I sent you, but I think I had the casing wrong (Skin vs skin)
On my local machine, the editor works when I add the skin.doctype.xml file
I think it was the upper case S that was causing it not to work.
skin.doctype.xml should work for all ascx files, but you can also create one for each ascx file..

yes, I forgot it's case sensitive, sorry about that.
Timo, I don't get it. I did the same skin.doctype.xml in the actual skin/en1 folder just like the server and my local machine does not have access to the editor features.
