I'm looking into how to provide a "record" button on my website that can record a short 3-5 second clip of sound from the client, and store it as an mp3 (or something else..) in the portal file structure. It might help to know people will be recording sounds that their car makes, like tooting the horn or gunning the engine. Would you have an idea for this?

I don't know of any existing DNN modules that do that.
Although HTML 5 does support audio recording you need server side code to store the files.

I haven't tried it myself yet, but you could try installing and running the H5P plugin.  It appears to be open source and already embedded in other CMS's.

Thank you Timo and Will. Both are excellent links that are in the right direction. I have looked into both of them and will continue doing so. I was optimistically hoping that this ability could be found already packaged into a module or add-in. But it looks fairly new and the demand for it not as high as other things. I might need to decide just how much I need help with it...
