Congrats on posting!

Is it possible in Form & List to format and display a hyperrlink using a value from another column in the link?

For example, I populate a column with a Vimeo ID number and another column presents a streaming link that uses the value from the Vimeo ID column. The link has a variable for the value in the Vimeo ID column:

https://vimeo.com/[Vimeo ID]/8c17da41f2?share=copy&autoplay=1

I know we can use a URL field and include the entire link, but it would nice to just enter the Vimeo ID and let the link column format the link. I tried everything I can think of.

Thank you.

I don't know if it is. I'm not sure how many people are still using the Form and List module. Anecdotally, I think most of the community has since migrated to OpenContent and/or 2sxc to do the same things that FnL does/did. So, I'm not sure if you'll get a timely response. ☹️

Well, you can in the view use the value of another column, so technically it is possible with your custom template if you are quite good at xlst :)

Thank you, Will and Daniel. I did not realize that 2sxc and Open Content have data list management capability. I'll explore that option, which seems a better skill to learn than XSLT.

I have since created a module using XMod Pro. It works fine, but has made me appreciate how much functionality and ease of use are built into the Form and List module. I'm more of a superuser and know just enough SQL to be dangerous. Over my years on DNN, I've seen so many request for functionality like SharePoint lists for us non-developers, and FnL fills that need, of course with some limitations.

Thanks again.

Yeah, I would probably not start new projects with Form&List, it works and is "kept alive" so far but the more modern solutions are much better and easier for sure.
