Alpha Upgrade?

Hi,

We have upgraded one of our sites to the latest version (9.4.4) from:

https://www.dnnsoftware.c...roduct-versions.html

We were under the impression these releases were ready for release but in the browser tab page name we are getting "Home (Alpha Version: 9.4.4.5)".

Is this an oversight in the release or have we picked a version still in testing? If the latter how can we tell if a release in that release table is still in testing?

Many Thanks,

Scott

For Evoq questions like this one, it's probably better to ask for help from the Evoq folks. That's a much more direct path to the source.

Most of us here use DNN Platform, not the Evoq version. So, we're not quite as familiar with the Evoq distributions, even though they are based on Platform.

Hi Joe,

Thanks for your reply.

We are using Platform. Not Evoq.

Kind Regards

In that case, go to https://github.com/dnnsof...nn.Platform/releases and use the 9.4.4 upgrade package.

Hi Joe,

That is exactly what we have done.

DNNAlpha

It does only seem to be happening on the Home page which is a simple one module page with a HTML module on it.

Check the page settings to see if that message is there. If not, does the home page use a different skin. Check the skin's ascx file.

The skin has not changed and the home page is not running a different skin. The alpha message was not there before the upgrade. We simply upgraded to 9.4.4.5 and the message is now there.

Kind Regards

Where precisely is the message appearing. Can you see it in the page source?

It is appearing in the tab title as per earlier post screenshot. The page source therefore includes it in the title:
Page-Source

However the title of the page is simply Home:

DNNPages

I have found previous threads whereby the alpha message has been left in the release by accident and displays in the same format:

https://www.dnnsoftware.c...540-stable-or-alpha-

Has the same happened again perhaps?

Regards

Scott

For anyone else having this issue, we have found a workaround. Clear the page title of the pages so that the field is empty and save:

Fix

There is obviously a bug in this release that sets the page title to (Alpha Version: 9.4.4.5) if the title of the page is set in pages.
