Hello,

After upgrading from DNN7.3.4 to DNN9.9, I have noticed the following error in the *log.resource file located in \Portals\_default\Logs.

System.Web.HttpException (0x80004005): Validation of viewstate MAC failed. If this application is hosted by a Web Farm or cluster, ensure that configuration specifies the same validationKey and validation algorithm. AutoGenerate cannot be used in a cluster.

See http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=314055 for more information. ---> System.Web.UI.ViewStateException: Invalid viewstate.

The web application is hosted in a web farm and I have verified the web.config has a valid machine key and is the same across all servers.

I have refered this article (per the log) http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=314055, but nothing seemed to help.

I was wondering if anyone has come across this? Is this some extra security within DNN.  I am also trying to recreate the issue, but I haven't had any luck.

If you anyone has any ideas on this, I would greatly appreciate it.

You're an MVP!
if you are running DNN in a web farm, did you enable distributed caching provider in DNN?

Thank you for the reply.
I have this is my web.config

Is there another setting I need to enable? Do I need to enable the key "IsWebFarm"?

Thank you.
