Hi Community,

when upgrading to DNN 10.1.2 from 9.13, various commercial skins and modules in different sites display the same error:
Method not found: 'DotNetNuke.Entities.Portals.PortalSettings DotNetNuke.Entities.Portals.PortalController.GetCurrentPortalSettings()'
Could this be difficult for developers to fix?

Thanks.

Thanks a lot, Daniel!
I'll contact the developers and let them know how to resolve the issue.

I think you need PortalSettings.Instance.GetCurrentSettings()

switched:

...
If skinSrc = "" Then
skinSrc = PortalController.GetCurrentSettings().DefaultPortalSkin
End If
skinSrc = DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.SkinController.FormatSkinSrc(skinSrc, PortalController.GetCurrentSettings())
...

to:

...
If skinSrc = "" Then
skinSrc = PortalSettings.Instance.GetCurrentSettings().DefaultPortalSkin
End If
skinSrc = DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.SkinController.FormatSkinSrc(skinSrc, PortalSettings.Instance.GetCurrentSettings())
...

Congrats on posting!

Hmmm... Are you sure you have all of the necessary DNN references and imports? Also, maybe try the entire namespace, just in case you have a conflicting class in your project. πŸ˜ŽπŸ€™πŸ½πŸ€™πŸ½Β

Thank you Will!

We've updated some instances and calls related to the errors, and the theme now looks as expected.
Only deleting module instances on a page causes an error. However, this can also be done via the page settings.
Apparently, this error originates from the StyleSwitcher theme management code, which is compiled, so unfortunately we can't edit it.
