Congrats on posting!

Hi, I'm running a test website in DNN10.1.1.

I noticed that when I go to Security >Authentication > Basic Login Settings, I get the red bar with:
"There was an error retrieving your content. Please check your internet connection".

Has anyone else encountered this issue? What can be done to fix this (nothing shows in the Admin Logs)

Thanks

-Tom

You may find more clues in the Portals/_default/Logs folder on disc, there is a log file per day and most exceptions get logged there.

Yes, It looks like this is the error in logs. Let me know what you think, maybe some dll needs to be replaced?:

The first thing that comes to mind, do you have a 3rd party extension for LiveId? If so do you actually use it? I doubt that extensions was maintained in many many years and it may just not work on modern DNN or MS infrastructure anyway.

Thanks Daniel. I didn't know about that, but I do see "DNN_LiveIDAuthentication" in Authentication Systems under Extensions. An yes, I'm not using it so I will try removing it and see if it fixes the issue.

Thanks again

Hi again -
I saw that Open ID authentication was also in the errors, so I removed both DNN_OpenIDAuthentication and DNN_LiveIDAuthentication from Extensions >> Authentication
And, it fixed the error! I can now see Security >> Aunthentication >> Basic Login Settings .

Thanks Daniel for pointing me in the right direction, very much appreciated!!
