Upgrade 9.2.2 > 9.4.1 - "Could not load file or assembly 'netstandard, Version=2.0.0.0"

Hi Nukers,

Tried an upgrade today from 9.2.2 to 9.4.1 and as usual, the upgrade didn't work reporting the following error:

Server Error in '/' Application.
Could not load file or assembly 'netstandard, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=cc7b13ffcd2ddd51' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'netstandard, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=cc7b13ffcd2ddd51' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

 

I've checked these forums and found others having the same issue.  I don't use whatever 2Sxc is.  I've unblocked the zip file before uploading it.

Any other ideas?  Is this just a dependency issue, with not having .Net Framework 4.7.2 installed?  It's in a shared hosting environment.

Got a reply from the hosting company today.  .Net 4.7.2 is not installed on the server.  They are going to install that and I'll try again.

OK, .net Framework 4.8 installed, and the upgrade worked.

So, I noticed in DNN, when you hover over the logo in the left top, it shows the version...
Like 4.6 .Net framework, or 4.7 .Net framework
However when I look under Servers > under the Web tab it shows :
.NET FRAMEWORK VERSIE:
4.0.30319.42000

So what is true?!?

Marnix,

4.0.30319.42000 is the CLR version, this is the one that supports .Net Framework 4.6 and above. So both is true ;-)
