Hi, we want to upgrade several of our sites, some are already at 9.1 but one in particular is still running on 7.0.2. I read a post for an upgrade path as:

  1. 8.0.4
  2. 9.1.1
  3. 9.3.2
  4. 9.4

So this was the path we took, step 1 was ok. step2 seemed ok  but as soon as we logged and clicked on the edit button, the site went into a locked edit mode and we lost all the persona bar tools.

Luckily I performed the upgrade on a test server so we were able to roll back..

Does anyone have any advice as to what may have happend and if possible a good upgrade path to follow.

Stuart,

I remember some issues with Newtonsoft JSON... Maybe upgrading from 9.1.1 to 9.3.2 solves the problem. When you are on a test server, you could give that a try...

Could we jump straight to 9.3.2 ?? or is there a danger to that

Stuart,

good question. The upgrade path is a suggestion, it is possible that it works when you jump over one step. But it is also possible that your system needs one or two more steps (even this is not very propable).

You have a test system - give it a try.
