Have you tried upgrading version by version to see at which version it breaks?

On the IMPORT/EXPORT: Many versions ago the export/import was not working well. We went from using it all the time to never using it, Once it got fixed we've been using it again, but not so much as before. The only thing you need to ensure is that the modules you use implement the import/export interface. In some cases the export/import take the settings of the module, but not the data, usually directory systems. However, these systems usually have an independent export/import.

Hey everyone,

When I upgraded my site from DNN 10.0 to 10.1, the HTML module completely stopped working. Every time I tried to edit or update any HTML content, the site would crash. I tested this on 10.2 and even the latest release — same issue every time.

The export/import process itself worked amazingly well though. Most of my modules and settings came over cleanly, and I didn’t have much installed besides Active Forums and a couple of 2sxc modules. The only real snag was the forum, which didn’t transfer over correctly — but rebuilding it wasn’t a big deal since there wasn’t much content.

Just wanted to share this in case anyone else runs into the same thing. It seems like something in the HTML editor breaks after 10.0, but otherwise the upgrade process went surprisingly smooth.

Thank you for fixing the export / import thats huge IMO saved me a huge amount of time and it went very good. Thanks you Im about to swap to my new site.
