Hi all,

I have installed DNN community 9.12 on localhost. it works fine with local IIS but if I open it inside Visual studio 2022 (to create skins or module and so on...) when I compile the progect it present eight error of compilation....

Here is one of that:

'ASP.providers_folderproviders_azurefolderprovider_settings_ascx' do not contain a definition of 'valContainerName_ServerValidate' and do not have find a metyhod of extension 'valContainerName_ServerValidate' who accept a first argument of type 'ASP.providers_folderproviders_azurefolderprovider_settings_ascx'. Probably there is not a using directive or a reference to an assembly.

The other errors are similar and refer to the same file: C:\inetpub\DNN.9.12\Providers\FolderProviders\AzureFolderProvider\Settings.ascx

How can I delete this errors?

Thank you very much for the answer

Congrats on posting!

There shouldn't be any need to install the source code to build any kind of extension, themes - or, any other type of DNN extension.

The source code is only meant to be used to update the source code, for reference when troubleshooting stuff, and to be and remain open- and free- source code.  Building the source code won't help build anything else.  ;)

I'd recommend using nvQuickTheme for a better experience building a theme.  All you need to have to begin building a theme (other than your desired dev tools), is a working/running DNN website.  So, all you need to do is install DNN, either using nvQuickSite or install DNN manually.
