Our DNN v9.11 site with 11childportals shows at starting up an application error. The site worked today till 13:00 hour.
Nothing has changed in the configuration. Can add or change content be the culprit?

How can i checked whats wrong to recover the site?

At this point, anything could be the cause.  There are not enough details for us to determine a cause for you, yet.  Though, I can say that editing/updating content does not break a DNN website.  Such a thing would be incredibly rare, and would most likely be the cause of some other custom code or third-party module doing something that it shouldn't be doing.

Anyhow, this short video will walk you through how to go into your log files to find any errors that may seem to be related.

Once you find what appear to be the primary or initial errors related to this issue, I'd suggest posting them here so we can review them.

Thanks Will. This is the first entry in the logfile:

Hmmm...  It looks like the DLL it needs is either not found or can't be loaded due to permissions.

By the way, have you recently upgraded DNN?  What version of DNN are you on?

The next steps for your troubleshooting should likely be to:

  1. Verify that the "DotNetNuke.Security.Authentication.AuthenticationProvider.dll" file is indeed in the Bin folder.
  2. Verify that the permissions to the Bin folder (and the rest of DNN while you're at it) are correct and applied.

By the way, I know the error says 9.11, but is it 9.11.00, 9.11.01, 9.11.02, or did you think it was on a different (lower) version?

Those DependencyInjectionInitialize logs are relatively common, they are for troubleshooting but don't necessarily indicate that something is broken. I'd suggest scrolling through and see if you can find other types of errors being logged.

You can save daywork to other people :-D

Anyway, thanks!

As far as I know, no, is that the cause? :-\
