Missing content of existing module on subdomain

    Hello, I'm new to DNN and I've been tasked to create a new subdomain and test the sitegroup function of DNN on this subdomain. My company's requirement is that when a module of the main domain got updated with new content, it also appears on the subdomain. Everything was done smoothly until i add an existing display banner module on the subdomain.The module is there (i can select, drag it,etc) but its content is blank unlike the module of the main domain. The picture below is the content of that banner module on the main domain. 

     

    In the subdomain, there is nothing to show: 


    Is there any solution to this ? Thank you so much in advance.

      Which version of DNN are you using?

      Do some experimenting with the HTML module on a test page of the subdomain site. I assume that you have created the Site Group.

      Create a test page on the subdomain, and add an HTML module that is on the main domain. When you add, you will use the Add Existing function, and do not check the Copy checkbox, as you don't want a copy of the module, but the module itself. The HTML module should appear with it's content on the subdomain page and will change if you edit the content on the main domain.

      Having verified that the HTML module works, move on to the Banner module. There may be some issues with the Banner module. Make sure that it is added also without the Copy option being chosen. If this is true and the content doesn't appear, some additional research may be needed.

        DNN Banner module is quite old, and I am not sure, it works properly for sharing content cross domain in site group.
        If you can't get it to run, you should consider a different solution (using an IFrame, sharing via RSS, custom module), depending on your exact requirements.
