No changes in permissions, same occurs in Global Assets. This occurs in all my upgraded to 9.11.1/9.11.2 installs. I have 1 new 9.11.1 install and it DOES work there... So it appears to occur only in an upgraded environment.

I'm still not seeing this myself in my local tests using 9.11.2, but we haven't upgraded any client sites to 9.11.2 yet.  We just finished upgrading most of them to 9.11.1.

I don't yet see this reported in GitHub, so the issue is not affecting everyone (yet). Here's my quick search in GitHub.

      https://github.com/dnnsof...e+is%3Aopen+copy+url

However, since more than one of you are experiencing this, there is certainly something wrong.  The questions below might help us all navigate this issue to troubleshoot it enough to find a solution or document it for GitHub so someone can fix it.

      • What kind of user account are you using during your tests?
      • What kind of folder and folder permissions are used when this happens?
      • Does it happen to ALL folders or certain ones?
      • Does it happen in any web browser, or just a specific one?
      • Do you see any related errors in the browser console?
      • Do you see any related errors in the Log4Net log file(s)?
      • How is the site hosted?
      • What are the permissions in Windows and the Application Pool?

It occurs in both upgraded versions (not only in 9.11.2 but also in 9.11.1)

        • What kind of user account are you using during your tests?
          Admin and Host
        • What kind of folder and folder permissions are used when this happens?
          Both Secure and Normal
        • Does it happen to ALL folders or certain ones?
          All
        • Does it happen in any web browser, or just a specific one?
          Chrome, Firefox
        • Do you see any related errors in the browser console?
          No
        • Do you see any related errors in the Log4Net log file(s)?
          No
        • How is the site hosted?
          Microsoft SQL Server 2019 (RTM-CU18-GDR) (KB5021124) - 15.0.4280.7 (X64) Jan 23 2023 12:37:13 Copyright (C) 2019 Microsoft Corporation Web Edition (64-bit) on Windows Server 2019 Standard 10.0 <X64> (Build 17763: ) (Hypervisor)
        • What are the permissions in Windows and the Application Pool?
In all cases the webfolder has additional write/modify permissions for the .NET user

        Also:

        • Same happens in both single language (both EN only as NL only) as multi language installs.

Ah, I forgot to ask about localization.  That's an important factor, for sure.  That may even be why I haven't seen this happen yet in my local tests.

I have the same issue as Keston, but only using Chrome and Edge, Firefox works fine.

Mmm, it's a SSL thing. Try and secure it with a certificate and let me know if that helps you also!

Ours is an internal intranet. I don't know how to do that, but will ask our Network Architect when he gets back from lunch.

Hmmm... While securing an internal intranet is a good (best) practice, it will be interesting to find out if that's the resolution. 🤔

We added a SSL certificate to our site and it appears to be working with Edge, Chrome and Firefox, so I believe Keston is correct; it's a SSL issue, probably with the Edge and Chrome browsers. To be clear this fixes the "Copy URL" issue. Not the renaming of files issue.

FYI, the renaming of downloaded files can be bypassed by using the "Copy URL" and pasting in a new tab.
