Yay! 🙌🏽
Thanks for the update Cathy!
Posted By Cathy Lee on 2/26/2024 7:16 AM Hi there ! As planned and following the integration of the new theme, the environmental impact of the DNN Community website has been calculated following the procedure provided by Green IT (find out about them here: https://www.greenit.fr/a-propos/). The results are precise and as you can imagine, there's room for improvement of the overall grade currently saying "E" (grades range from A to G) : if you're interested in looking at the "Environmental statement" I've written, detailing the procedure and providing the results of each of the measuring actions that were conducted, don't hesitate to let me know. The statement was completed by a series of "tests" using various tools like Green IT Analysis, Ecoindex, Yellow Lab Tool, Google Page Speed Insights and Website Carbon : their results have provided various lists of "things to do" and Timo is currently looking at what can be "easily improved". Once that's done, we'll re-run the same tests to see the impact of his actions. If anyone wants a look at them, same again, don't hesitate to ask ! I'll keep you informed of our progress here, Cathy
Excellent update... Thanks, Cathy! :)
Hi John,
Yes, we did do a first analysis before the skin was updated but our point was to do it now as the base for our work / progression to improve the website: as I said, Timo is currently looking at the things that can easily be modified. Once he's finished with that, we'll re-run the analysis to show improvements.
Here's the reports (dated 23/02/24) :
Let me know what you think !
Thanks Cathy. Very interesting reading; always amazed at how doing some simple analysis on a site reveals so many issues :>
BTW, for the admins, etc. what is "plerdy"? There are references to scripts that seem to take a while to load...
