Hi, thanks for reading this question I currently have a site that needs to update its jquery and bootstrap. A kind user here has led me to the artifacts to use. I now have the jquery, bootstrap and popper.js artifacts However, after applying them to the site via the DNN Persona bar's Extension page, I see that the site still uses the theme's own bootstrap file My questions are: - by adding the extensions thru these artifacts, should my site's theme have automatically updated? - how do you properly updatet he theme's jquery and bootstrap (or any file for that matter) do we have to get dirty and modify source code or is there a tool in the Persona Bar that one can use?
Thanks and God Bless
Ultimately, it depends on how the theme was written. Firstly, jQuery is bundled with DNN, so a theme will typically use this shared reference. In this case, installing a newer JS Library will cause the newer version to start being used. Secondly, most themes include their own version of Bootstrap rather than using a JS Library, so they can't be updated by installing a newer JS Library. In this case, changes to the theme are your only choice.
Hi Brian,
You are correct. jQuery changes were immediately updated. As for the theme, I am surgically making changes to the skin.css file.
Thanks very much
