After a successful 2019 DNN Connect conference in Switzerland, we can already announce the date and place of the 2020 conference. In 2020 the conference will be on 11-14th of June in Obergurgl in Austria. Block those dates in your agenda :-)
Mitch, Innsbruck (INN). There are flights from London (EasyJet), Amsterdam (Transavia) and Frankfurt (Austrian/Lufthansa), From there we will organize transfer taxis for those who are interested (should be around € 20 - € 30 per person, when the taxi is full = 8 persons). Other possibilities are Munich, Memmingen and Verona, but the way is a bit longer from there (3 hours by car from Memmingen, 4 from Munich and Verona). When renting a car I recommend car-sharing as parking space is a bit limited over there. Happy DNNing! Michael
Ah, and of course, there are flights from Vienna to Innsbruck (Austrian), but in this case I would recommend the train (directly from Vienna Airport to Innsbruck). Happy DNNing! Michael
Hi everyone,
we plan to offer some activities for Sunday after the conference to give you the opportunity to get to know the country.
The plan is that both programs meet at the end of the day and visit the Tyrol Panorama in Innsbruck to see the Giant Panoramic Painting that portrays the Tyrolean struggle for freedom in 1809.
Let me know if we shall go on with these plans - and if you want to attend, you'll better book your flight back home on Monday, or stay some more days :-)
Happy DNNing! Michael
Will, I am checking what possibilities we have, and what is interesting for the conference attendees. So, if you have something you really would like to do, I am open for suggestions. Anyway, a guided tour in Innsbruck is not "climbing the cliffs" ;-) As I wrote, this will happen on Sunday after the conference, and I am aware of the fact that (hopefully not too) many will prefer to return home on this day. Taking part is completely voluntary, not included in the conference fee and just an offer to people who are interested to see a bit of the country.
On the other hand, I think that offering too much "parallel" programs would split the group very much, and the intention is to do something together (at least at the end), which will be difficult if there are too many asynchronous activities.

@Timo: So beautiful. Thanks for the pic! :)
@Michael: I completely understand and agree. I've just been really into active and adrenaline things as of late. This is by no means a complaint or anything like that.
Will,
I did not understand it as a complaint, never mind. On the contrary, I like this discussion as it helps to plan things. Please understand that I don't want to disclose too much about the plans for Friday late afternoon, but be sure it will not be "adrenaline things" (you should know me, I am not pleased of these activities, afraid of heights, too old, a couch potatoe... call it what you want :-)). It will be a little walk that fits into the program of the morning... Be surprised!
And on Saturday, there will be the traditional "dîner de gala", of course.
