Trying to debug an authentication module I've been putting together with a new partner and when I pull the Website in the website folder and attempt to debug I get this errror

System.ExecutionEngineException: 'Exception of type 'System.ExecutionEngineException' was thrown.'

The other message that I can put here is

No symbol file loaded for EasyDNNsimpleForum.dll

That DLL has nothing to do with my module, any thoughts on bypassing or ignoring it

I'm not sure there's enough information yet to be able to fully help you.

Have you tried enabling all debugging and trying to recreate the errors?  The errors you've mentioned so far aren't necessarily related to what you're trying to troubleshoot.

If you need help with turning on and using debugging, you might want to try the Upendo DNN Prompt extension, and use the set-debug command.  When you do, you'll have a lot more details.  In fact, if you can't even enter into debugging for some reason, this will help you emit some more helpful messages to see if the code is even running.

One thing that seems to trip people up is the key/name of the provider.  Be sure that the name/key of the provider is NOT named "DNN."  It should be any other value.  Ideally, something more unique to the site/organization.

Thanks Will,

Out of frustration I just (2 minutes ago) removed the EasyDNNsimpleForum.dll from the website/bin and everything is back to debugging fine.

That's interesting... Was that something that was previously uninstalled? 🤔

Same problem here with EasyDNNsimpleForum 4.9

temporarily removing the EasyDNNsimpleForum.dll from the bin solves the issue

Did you found a solid solution for this? or contact EasyDNN?

I would highly recommend reaching out to EasyDNNsolutions support to let them know of the issue and hopefully they can work on remediating the issue.
