    Hello,
    I have to update several sections of the web.config because I am updating some DLLs in the portal.

    Why this manifest code just add the lines?

    DNN manifest:
    <node path="/configuration/system.web/compilation/assemblies" action="update" key="assembly" collision="overwrite">
      <add assembly="My.Dashboard.v21.2.Web.WebForms, Version=21.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
      <add assembly="My.Dashboard.v21.2.Core, Version=21.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
      <add assembly="My.Data.v21.2, Version=21.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
      <add assembly="My.Web.v21.2, Version=21.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
      <add assembly="My.Dashboard.v21.2.Web, Version=21.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
      <add assembly="My.DataAccess.v21.2, Version=21.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
      <add assembly="My.Web.Resources.v21.2, Version=21.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
    </node>

    Result in:
    <assemblies>
      <!-- start already existing -->
      <add assembly="My.Dashboard.v20.2.Web.WebForms, Version=20.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
      <add assembly="My.Dashboard.v20.2.Core, Version=20.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
      <add assembly="My.Data.v20.2, Version=20.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
      <add assembly="My.Web.v20.2, Version=20.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
      <add assembly="My.Dashboard.v20.2.Web, Version=20.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
      <add assembly="My.DataAccess.v20.2, Version=20.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
      <add assembly="My.Web.Resources.v20.2, Version=20.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
      <!-- end already existing -->
      <add assembly="My.Dashboard.v21.2.Web.WebForms, Version=21.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
      <add assembly="My.Dashboard.v21.2.Core, Version=21.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
      <add assembly="My.Data.v21.2, Version=21.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
      <add assembly="My.Web.v21.2, Version=21.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
      <add assembly="My.Dashboard.v21.2.Web, Version=21.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
      <add assembly="My.DataAccess.v21.2, Version=21.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
      <add assembly="My.Web.Resources.v21.2, Version=21.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
    </assemblies>

    But what I want is:
    <assemblies>
      <add assembly="My.Dashboard.v21.2.Web.WebForms, Version=21.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
      <add assembly="My.Dashboard.v21.2.Core, Version=21.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
      <add assembly="My.Data.v21.2, Version=21.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
      <add assembly="My.Web.v21.2, Version=21.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
      <add assembly="My.Dashboard.v21.2.Web, Version=21.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
      <add assembly="My.DataAccess.v21.2, Version=21.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
      <add assembly="My.Web.Resources.v21.2, Version=21.2.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B88D1754D700E49A" />
    </assemblies>

    Where I'm wrong?

    Thanks all
    Seek

      First thought.. you've indicated that your key is the property 'assembly' but this is also the value you have changed, so the key is not found and thus added.

      <node path="/configuration/system.web/compilation/assemblies" action="update" key="assembly" collision="overwrite">

      PublicKeyToken is no good either - since you've used the same one for all assemblies. I would expect that the public key token should have been unique for each assembly - and then you could have used this when updating to a new version ;-)

        HI,
        I mistakenly thought that the assembly strong name could act as a key. But I have to delete the old and add the new.

        Thank you
