I installed 9.11 Community. I think I have the folder settings set correctly for a role we created. The user can upload/delete files in the HTML module using the Ckeditor. But for other modules (links, faq, 3rd party modules), they get the message: You don't have permission to upload files to this site.
This is probably a very simple fix but I can't seem to figure it out. I've searched the web and forum. Found similar issues but not the same issue. Thanks for your assistance.
Hello!
By default, normal end-users do not have the ability to upload to any folders. You either first have to change the permissions on an existing folder, or create a new folder and give permissions there. Once you do, the folder should appear in the views that you expect.
That is, except for the User Files folder in some use cases. That should be available at those times.
This is a known bug with the UrlControl (see UrlControl issue: cannot upload for any role (Only works for admin/Superuser) · Issue #5423 · dnnsoftware/Dnn.Platform · GitHub for more info).
It will be fixed soon in DNN 9.11.1
Happy DNNing! Michael
Thanks for the responses. Is there an ETA on when 9.11.1 Community will be released?
I gave them access to the Site Asset page so they can use the Resource Manager to upload files until the new version comes out.
How can I get the Site Asset menu option to show up in the Persona Bar for them? Currently they only see the Page menu option in the Persona Bar.
I think 9.11.1 will be realistic. This weekend some are building a test version, I think
For assets I would create a page and add the resource manager extension. Then setup as usual
