Deploying changes without Site Downtime

Started By  Rajesh
Hi, Whenever we need to deploy any changes that require a new dll or an updated dll to be placed in the production environment, our site takes 20 minutes to start as all the dlls are being rebuilt etc. This creates a 20 minutes downtime for us and has become a problem to keep the server down for so long. I am sure there must be a better way to deploy that I am overlooking. Can someone guide me on how one needs to do this so that the site downtime, if any, is minimal Thanks

Bug in ScriptManager?

Started By  Andreas
Hi! It seems I stumbled upon a bug in ScriptManager or AJAX, depending on your view point. I just recently noticed that when you switch on our DNN site (v9) to German locale, the Script Manager attempts to load MicrosoftAjax.de.js instead of MicrosoftAjax.js. We have CDN enabled and Microsoft does not host such a file on their Ajax CDN web site. Is anyone else expiriencing this problem that has CDN for Ajax enabled Maybe it's just our upgraded site. The fix was to change this in AJAX.c...

Perfmance Tip - FWIW

Started By  tony bonn
I am passing along a tip i practiced today which resulted in impressive performance gains on my website. I ended, at least temorarily, site robots rumaging through obsolete urls. the gains have been impressive thus far. As back ground, i have a website which i have operated off and on for over 10 years. certain robots, such as google's, cling to its urls like some people cling to elvis - they just can't let them go. I have seen google bots crawl links from Catalook which I haven't used in yea...

Hello I have just run a Telerik Identifier on my DNN 9.8.00. The Telerik Report stated I have no unexpected dependencies on Telerik.  However, it highlighted  the following unexpected: During processing, we were unable to view the dependencies for the following assemblies. You will need to manually verify any Telerik dependencies of these items. libwebp.dll (The module was expected to contain an assembly manifest. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131018)) I am not sure where to loo...

DNN Hosting

Started By  Joyce
Hello I am currently working on my DNN 9.7.1 website online.  So far I have started about 4 pages with basic content, not a big site thus far.  Whilst adding basic text content the site went down and a Error 524 Ray ID 5d32dcc0aed406f1  which states that it is a host server error. I have contacted my hosting company and they suggest that the only solution is to upgrade to a dedicated server.  Yet the current package I have with them which they recommended for my DNN site offers 500GB stora...

I'm trying to find what people do for cleaning up an old site and removing the bloat from left behind files from modules not in use  or unused files. I found mention of a cleanup manifest but can't find any documentation on how to use it and execute it.  Any help is greatly appreciate it.  -Santiago

Urgent attention! A new change in the GTMetrix reports

Started By  Armin Rahimian
Recently, the GTMetrix analys technic has been changed. It's similar to Google reports. In the best conditions, a new DNN Installation With compression gets Rank E. Wonderfull Look at Following Images: If you hover your mouse over the images above, I will explain which server each one is hosted on. Different servers in Canada, England and Iran. Two of these are newly installed versions and even one of them is css/js compressed which should get an A rating.
