Setting up page alerts

Is there functionality in DNN to set up page alerts on a page, so that pages with time-sensitive information don't become outdated - as well as to set up a recurring schedule to update pages regularly? Maybe have it that you can insert an email address so that when the alert date is approaching, an email is sent to a particular person / department?

This functionality could be provided by a custom module that you place on pages that need it.

If custom development is an option for you, I would follow a different route and implement a scheduler job (executed e.g. daily), which checks last update date of module content you need to follow up.
otherwise use an offline tool, e.g. an Excel spreadsheet, where last updates are logged and a conditional formatting colors lines, which are outdated.
