Which version of bootstrap should we use when building themes for DNN 9.11 and up.
We noticed some compatibility issues with third party modules using different version of bootstrap.

Some modules run on bootrsap 3 and some require bootstrap 5

What's the best practice?

Well, that's always a loaded question, isn't it? In general, the ecosystem will move organically as more clients have the need to update their respective dependencies for various reasons.

If one is using Bootstrap, I'd say be on at least v4, but v5 will soon be my default recommendation as more and more support in both ecosystems becomes apparent.

Now, you asked about the "best practice." The best practice for many of us would be to always be on the most recent code available in almost all cases. But, as you noted, there will be trade-offs made today that may not be trade-offs next year.

Congrats, your posts are really liked!

Go to the latest version Willem! you might find compatibility issues in a long term you're making a decision that will save you a lot of hours! The compatibility issues are more likely to get fixed using the newest version than a previous one. Those are my two cents.
