DNN Behind Reverse Proxy

    Hi everyone,

    we would like to use DNN behind a reverse proxy. For the comminication from the proxy to the server we are using an internal domain. The index page works great, but unfortunately the server answers with the internal url (hyperlinks etc of the website have wrong urls)

    Is there a setting where we can say, even if the request comes from internal domain, answer with the public dns url?

    I'm not a DNN developer, just the infrastructure /proxy admin, I'm just in the unfortunate position to tell the delevoper what to do...

      Not sure but perhaps you can add some entries to the portalalias list under site settings > site behaviour somewhere...

        Have you tried using the url rewriter module for iis? I used it a long long time ago with some success but haven’t tried it with DNN in years.
        I’m assuming you’re trying to use the same instance with an internal and an external DNS just name?

          The others are spot on... You're probably going to need to be sure your web server has the URL Rewrite Module installed, and use that feature (in the web.config) to help - in addition to adding a rewrite HTTP alias in DNN itself.

          You'll probably also find yourself adding one or more rules in your reverse proxy to help with this.
