    Hi

we have a portal backing up fine until recently.  The suspiscion is the backup_filter.txt file needs to be updated?

Anyone know of any files in DNN or modules that should be excluded from backing up?  as in a write locked when in use by the portal.

    thanks

      Ken,

there could be a problem with the Lucene files and the cache, as they could be opened by the AppPool user. Both are not really important when you create a backup, therefore you can exclude the folders App_Data/Search and Portals/x-System/Cache (and Subfolders, x=PortalId). Or you stop the ApplicationPool, run the backup and start it again.

      Did I forget something?

      Happy DNNing!
