    Hi,

We need to change the portal alias (domain) for a DNN 9 site. Unfortunatley the host site settings sections is not working so we altered the domain name in the following tables in the db (as well as some redirects in the web config file)

    PortalSettings (DefaultPortalAlias)

    PortalAlias (New Record)

The site now gives 404. We deleted cache files, recycled app pool etc but still the same. Anywhere else this needs updating? Thanks :-)

ps. The CloudFlare security doesn't seem to like web dot config, all one word!

Be sure your new portal alias is also marked as the PRIMARY alias.  In the database, it should be the only alias for that PortalID that has a 1.  The rest should be false (0).  It's a BIT field.  Only those two values are possible.

        Thanks Will for your reply.

That table was missing columns, which might explain why the site settings didn't work originally!

Looks like the site was upgraded from v7 by querying the Version table. We have added the missing columns back in, copying from another DNN 9 database, but still getting the 404 after recycling the app pool. Any other ideas? Thanks.

Whoa... That sounds scary!  If it were me, I'd immediately start doing a diff for the remaining DB schema and do the same with the file system. I'd be concerned that this is only the first of many more upcoming issues you'll discover.  ☹️

            What Will said !

You may find it useful to look at the suggested upgrade path - https://docs.dnncommunity...rade-path/index.html

Also check your folder permissions - https://dnnsupport.dnnsof...ng-up-the-DNN-Folder

Depending on how the skin has been constructed, I have sometimes seen paths hard coded there, so check the Skins table as well.
