Hi DNN Community,
Hope y'all are doing fine today! I have some question regarding customization of the DNN search module. We have it embedded in our skin. Our site has some additional modules and they offer being indexed. I have checked the DesktopModules table and the modules have bit 2 set (some have the value 3 and some the value 7), which afaik configures them to be indexed. The modules seem to properly implement the corresponding ISearchable interface or whatever it is called. Actually the content gets indexed, because the additional modules have their own search module as well, that we don't want to use. I assume if using this custom search module, the search result would cover only the specific module and not the rest of the site. We want there to be one search only for the whole site. When searching with the DNN search module, I can see results coming from the "Pages" source only. I would like the result to cover these other modules as well. Is there any way to configure the DNN search module to display these additional modules as well? Thanks for any help! Andreas
I just found the answer. Just in case someone has the same question I will describe how it can be easily solved. As described in the documentation (https://dnndocs.ir/conten...-results/index.html) simply run a search while logged on as admin and then enable edit mode and configure the search results module's scope setting to include additional modules in the result set. Very easy. Andreas
