Hi,

1) We have setting up a DNN website. The website file is on DATABASESERVER1 and the database is on FILESSERVER2.
To which server that we need to point our DNS from the domain registrar? Is it for DATABASESERVER1 or FILESSERVER2?

2) This website is using a subdomain.
    ex: demo1.example.com

But the main domain is pointing to DOMAINSERVER3.
   example.com

Can we point our subdomain to DATABASESERVER1  or FILESSERVER2 then?

I really appreciate your support.

Thank you!

PS: Typo and it should be corrected like this.
The database is on DATABASESERVER1.
The website file is on FILESSERVER2.

You're an MVP!
You should point it to the website - so it's FILESERVER2 in your case.

Happy DNNing!

Thank you so much, Michael. I can remember the hosting provider pointed it to the database server when I have a similar situation sometime back. I might be wrong. This is why I needed to confirm this.

You're an MVP!

You're welcome... but... "The website file is on DATABASESERVER1 and the database is on FILESSERVER2."

If this is the case and not a typo, you have to point the DNS record to DATABASESERVER1.

Happy DNNing!

Oh. It is my mistake. Sorry. It should be corrected like this. It is my typo. So sorry about this.

This should be corrected like this.

The database is on DATABASESERVER1.
The website file is on FILESSERVER2.
