Is it possible to review the logs of your SMTP server? That should provide the information that you need.

Make sure your primary administrator email and host email are from same domain as your site.

Gmail and Yahoo have security built in that wont allow email if the above isnt correct.

          Hi John,

Thanks for your response, Yes it is from same domain. but still have no luck to find any proper solution.

As we are using AWS smtp server. so there is no detail log avilable for particular email id. except rest password link I am able to send mail from that email id and also receive email to that email id.

I wonder why then not receive reset password link email.

          Regards,

          Shyamal

I am glad to see this subject raised as I also have sites that suffer from this problem. I shall be watching for a solution.

The best solution for this is to look at the logs of the SMTP server to see what transpired. If your SMTP server doesn't provide this information, switch to one that does!

We sometimes have these kind of issues too and it's mostly an issue with the email server / spam filter.
I use this technique to test if DNN actually delivers the email or not. (you do need physical access to the files though)
If the emails end up in the defined folder, the problem is not caused by DNN.

But it is probably a Port / SSL / ipaddress / SPF record / Spam issue

This is also not worked for me, by use this technique  I did not received any mail on my defiend folder and as per log table I got logtype PASSWORD_SENT_SUCCESS. I don't know what else I need to do.

When you use "this technique", the email is not sent but stored in the given file path (specifiedPickupDirectory pickupDirectoryLocation="E:\_Mail\DNN6Dev") - make sure the folder exists and check if files are created there.

                    Happy DNNing!
