We like to translate the content of a website with Google Translate.
I know DNNGO has functionality to do this: https://kella.dnngo.net/F...s/Google-Translation

But we like to implemente this (script/skinobject?) in a cutsom coded skin / theme

Any suggestion / examples how to do this?

I'm not aware of any specific examples for this, but I personally like the idea (assuming the integrated translation tool is good enough to use). However, this only addresses a single part of the entire localization journey. As long as you don't need other localization features, this can maybe work quite well. But things like custom URL paths, domain names, and other conversions that happen will not be aware of and/or be available by using the skin object by itself.

I don't recommend you doing this from a SEO perspective, it's better to implement localization and focused on creating a good URL sctructure for each language.

I just went through a very good article about SEO tips for Multilingual Websites, you might want to check this out (https://cutt.ly/TweoH9Nn).

Also, Google discontinued this service back in 2019; they recommend using the Google Cloud Translation API instead. On this article from Google you can check the latest notice about this, https://developers.google...s-website-translator
