How to redirect a page to use a specific domain?

    Hi -

I am using Action Form modules, and the license I just got will only work on some domains (and not on other domain variants)
Is there a simple way I can redirect any page that has an Action Form module on it , so that it always loads using the domain where the Action Form will work?

For example ('http://sccintranet/ISD-Ne...y-Employee-Form' won't work, and would need to be redirected to 'http://sccintranet.co.san...-Employee-Form')

What is the best way to acheive this?

    Thanks

    Tom

the easiest option would be setting the externally accessible domain as "primary" website alias (in website settings) and enable "redirect" mode for it.

        Thanks Sebastian -

I tried that, but now the other (non qualiified) domain doesn't work anymore.

        Primary Alias : http://sccintranettest.co.santa-cruz.ca.us/

        Other Site Alias: http://sccintranettest/

When I try to browse using 'http://sccintranettest/', it gets redirected to : 'http://sccintranettest.co...ta-cruz.ca.us/', which fails. Do you know why this is occurring?

        Thnks for your help!

        Tom

Are you missing something on the Other alias?

Hi Joe, Thanks for your reply

I don't see anything missing from the "Other" alias ('sccintranettest') , It hasnt changed from before when it was working. The only difference I can see is that I set it to "Redirect" mode.

Oh, that's a local address, right? does the url resolve correctly?

Yes - This is an intranet site, so just within our network. The URL worked fine before I changed it to "redirect" mode.

No need to worry about this - I am going back to "canonical" mode, and just fixing the module license to support all domains.
                  Thanks for all your help

the question is, where the redirect is coming from - usually, there should only happen a single redirect in DNN - but maybe there is another redirect in your local Windows hosts file or by a local name server.
