    Hello All,

I am going to be launching a new website in the near future, and was wondering if anyone already went through this and was able to eliminate allot of un needed http requests on their site, and how they did so.  I am not going to use the source code- so only modifications to the install package I am interested in.

I am not going to use messaging, etc - just going to be a custom ecommerce site.  I can give you the url if anyone wants to see it to monitor the requests.  It is not https though - trying to hide it from public as much as I can until it launchs.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      HI John,

Launching a new website, is what we do all the time. There are some things I can not compute, though:

      • If it is a new website, please use a current version of DNN. 9.7.2 is old and has security issues
      • Why would you use http requests as a metric? My take would be to measure speed for instance.
      • Why would you be interested in changes in the install package?

        Hi Tycho,
        Thanks for your response.
As far as Http requests - if you go to tools.pingdom.com - my site scores poor on http requests.
Also I do not want to compile dnn source code to make any changes.

Kinda hard to evaluate without context but the first thing I would check is if you have turned on compression / minification

Pls, read https://www.digitalocean....at-s-the-difference. Make sure your server accepts http 1.2 requests and even better eliminate anything less. You can also use Cloudflare for this, even the free subscription does this.

In most cases eliminating http 1.0 and 1.1 also cuts back on hack attempts.

You need to make sure your server supports this type of requests in order to move any further.
Like Mariette stated earlier Cloudflare free version could give you a hand with this.
