    Greetings everyone,
Our client has contracted us to integrate analytics into their DNN system. The issues that we're facing is that not only we are completely new to DNN, but our client and their IT department isn't very savvy on their system as well. We aren't sure what is required to run a local instance of their site to build upon. So far I followed these two links in setting up my environment: DNN - Set up Tools and DNN - Set up Environment, next we received their .template and .template.resources to import. We're still in the process of receiving SQL access.

Ideally, we want to expose the page properties from the DNN which includes the page type, template information, site categories, etc. That information will be pushed to their data layer where the front-end will complete the analytic event tracking on the page and submit it. Once this is done, we will provide our chagnes for them to deploy.

Any additional information on what we're missing or need to do next is greatly appreciated!

First of all: if you want to integrate analytics: that's a breeze. In the Persona bar (black bar on the left) you need to go to 'Connectors' where you can choose between Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager.
If you want some other system, you might very well use the same approach as I did for Matomo (Piwik Pro):

Now, on to your questions. On https://dnncommunity.org/Resources/Videos there is a bunch of other videos that might help. Just search for 'install' or 'local'.
A backup of live and restore to local would make sense. If you are not too familiar with that I can advice the module https://www.evotiva.com/products/dnn-backup . The website looks like 2003 but make no mistake: the modules are awesome!

If you want to pull data from the database there are a couple of things:
      1. The simplest thing is if you utilize core tokens. https://www.dnnsoftware.com/wiki/tokens
      2. Not all your desired data will be available by default but you might be happy. Not for free but really powerful is MyTokens https://www.dnnsharp.com/...es/my-custom-tokens. This module allows you to query anything you want and put that in a token.

Last: I do not understand the entire setup but it sounds like Google Tag Manager does a lot if not all that you want. There are already actions, triggers, labels and connecting to Analytics...Trick would be to figure out if you can share 1 GTM-code over 2 systems.

        Thank you for your reply,
The analytics integration is Adobe Analytics which requires us to input a script block at the footer to send the information. I will check out your links since they look promising and you've stated done this before. The issue I'm facing right now is that their UI is different from what I assume that you're describing as a typical DNN instance, so i don't know if this can apply to their unique setup. Once again, we are just the vendors so there's a lot of hurdles we need to address in terms of access. I am happy with the help you provided. I will update if there's any further issues.
