Azure Communication Service

We noticed that Microsoft Azure has an email service under public preview that looks to provide a secure means of establishing and maintaining email service for avery reasonable cost.

Has anyone integrated this service into DNN as a replacement for the "standard" emailing services?  I realize that this would entail modifying several invocations of the standard c# sendmail library.

I haven't yet, myself, but I'm sure I will soon... Did you happen to try already and run into any specific issues?

After some initial work with a simple mail application, I was thinking of integrating the Azure mail service with the Newsletter application. This would be easier than making changes to the base DNN infrastructure.

You can also connect to anything you want when the code is running within your self-contained application (such as a module).  However, there may be ways to use the core feature, then you have a single place to troubleshoot things.  This may or may not be a concern for you now or later.
