Installing things on Mac can often be counterintuitive and even backwards and ilogical. So I wanted to see if anyone can give me a summary of how could I do this.

      Basically, you can't.

See the Requirements for DNN at https://www.dnndocs.com/.

DNN only runs on Windows right now.

So you'll need a license for a recent version of Windows. You can use something like Bootcamp, VirtualBox, Parallels, or VMWare Fusion to allow you to install Windows on your Mac. Then you can install a database (e.g. SQL Server Community Edition), enable IIS, and so on there. See https://www.dnndocs.com/c...uirements/index.html for the system requirements.

One day in the dim and distant future, the hope is DNN will run on .net Core - and so it will work on Macs and Linux boxes. It's not there yet, though.
