Cannot create a new site after upgrade to 10.1.2

Started By  Vlastimil Konopisky
Hello, we upgraded DNN from 9.13.6 (which was working fine) directly to 10.1.2. After that everything seemed to work ok, but recently I found out I cannot create a new site anymore. During the creation process (showing blue progress bar on the top) DNN returns an error below: Unable to cast object of type 'DotNetNuke.Security.Permissions.PermisionInfo' to type 'DotNetNuke.Abstractions.Security.Permissions.IPermissionInfo'. In the log there is this error: 2025-11-26 11:28:12.17500:...

Issue After Upgrading from DNN 09.13.9 to 10.1.2 - ArgumentException & TypeLoadException Errors(CachingProvider &ModuleIndexer)

Started By  Shivam S
I recently upgraded my DNN website from version 09.13.9 to 10.1.2. After the upgrade, I started encountering several errors in the logs related to caching and module indexing. The errors occur when the system attempts to index certain modules or load business controller classes. Specifically, the errors indicate an issue with an empty or null CacheKey parameter, causing a System.ArgumentException. Additionally, there are several System.TypeLoadException errors, indicating that types such as D...

After attempted upgrade (10.00.01 → 10.01.01), clicking Update in HTML module crashes site and triggers JIT debugging

Started By  D0rk52
DNN Platform: 10.00.01 (attempted in-place upgrade to 10.01.01) Behavior: No installer errors reported, but editing any HTML/Pro module and clicking “Update” crashes the site. The server then prompts Visual Studio Just-In-Time debugging (VS tries to attach to w3wp). Front-end recovers after app pool recycles. probably attempt again today.

Upgrade path from v. 09.13.08 (0) to current version(s)

Started By  G_Papadopolis
Not sure if there are any notes or instructions for upgrades from 9.13.08 to the most currrent version which appears to be 10.01.2 as of today. Should the 10.0.0  upgrade and then 10.0.1 and then 10.0.2 etc be followed or should the upgrade from 9 to 10.01.02 work I understand that backup of the site and database is a prudent  part of each upgrade. Thanks
