Hi,
So I have a webserver that I haven't touched in a couple years and I'd like to get it current. It's on v. 09.02.00 (366) (Windows server 2012).
I downloaded 9.4.1_upgrade.zip and failed miserably so I've rolled it back.
Looking for hints or someone who's more up to date on this than I am... do I need to do any pre-requisites or upgrade the DB ahead of time?
I tried to do an in-place upgrade like I have in the past - should I have done a side-by-side instead?
Thanks,
Steve

I didn't check that. Thanks for the tip! I'll let you know if that fixes it.
Well that didn't solve it - I still get a Server Error as soon as the new files are loaded:
Server Error in '/' Application ... Runtime Error: An application error occurred at the server.
On the localhost it's Server Error in '/' Application - An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Details: Syste.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file of assembly 'Microsoft.Extensions.DependencyInjection.Abstactions' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference.
I saw this article: https://dnncommunity.org/...s/aft/312 which pointed me to read the error a little more carefully and it listed a specific file (in this case Microsoft.Extensions.DependencyInjection) so based on the article above I commented out the line in web.config which included that reference and then I was able to complete the upgrade.
Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction! Hopefully this helps someone else.
