New Around Here

Hello, I'm using DNN 7 and have some problems with updating Site Settings. First of all, when I go to Admin - Site Settings it takes a while to load it. Then, when it loads and when I do changes I want to, when click on Update i looks like the window freezes for a few seconds. After that, changes are visible but when I refresh the site everything is like it was before any update I did. Event Viewer doesn't show any warning, error, nothing. Any ideas what could be a problem? The thing is, it is the copy of existing page and on that page everything works but at this new page there's this problem.

      Hi Slipsa,

Can you elaborate a bit more?

      • What version of DNN 7?
      • What are you trying to adjust in site settings?
      • Are you running on your own server or in Azure?
      • Is it a multi lingual site?

The site settings load time in those releases is a known issue. It's worth your time to upgrade, as soon as you can. :)

In the meantime, I'd suggest trying this again after clearing out the current theme to ensure it's not breaking the site settings. I've also seen the CDF feature break site settings. So also try disabling that if it's enabled. :)

The root cause to both of the above solutions is that the theme and/or another extension may be loading multiple instances client-side scripts (e.g., jQuery) or scripts that conflict with and break DNN features.
