    Hello,
there is a way to achieve users creation with expired password for default?

    Thanks

I've tried starting an answer a few times, but I'm finding myself answering your question with another question instead...

What is the use case you're trying to achieve here, beyond a new user account password being expired?

DNN 5? Are you sure? This is really, really, really old and shoud be upgraded asap.

To your question: Maybe the word "expired" is misleading. What is possible is to create a user and force the change of the password - but unfortunately, these are two steps, and this cannot be done so by default (afair).

In my opinion it would be a nice enhancement to have a setting that defaults to this, so please suggest it at Issues · dnnsoftware/Dnn.Platform · GitHub. If you are able to code, you might do it yourself and create a pull repquest.

        Happy DNNing!
        Michael

This is part of the reason I was first asking for the use case. 😁

            Hi!
            Sorry for the late answer.
Yes, the goal is to create users and force the change of the password.
And yes, unfortunately, is DNN 5 :-(

            Thanks for the hints.
            S.

You can create a user, and then set the flag to require a password change, but this is not possible at the stage where the user is created. But don't ask me how exactly this is done in DNN 5 (which you should get rid of asap because of security aspects). I don't have an old installation of this even in my testing environments...

              Happy DNNing!

As Michael mentioned, you really need to upgrade for all kinds of reasons.  However, the biggest reason is that there are many more configuration options available to you, including some that can help with this use case.  DNN 5's abilities to handle today's challenges will be limited overall.  That was released a very long time ago.
