I have been update our internal compnay DNN site from version 9.10.2 to version 9.11.0. No issues in the update. Everything seems to be working well, also removed all Telerik files ok.
I added a new page and setup a new ro;e for testing so that our empolyees would not see it while developing it. Applyed the permissions to the page not issues. But when logging in as a user with that role set for them we cannot see the page. As Superuser works well, if I set the role to all users or Registered users the page funcions well.
I tryed adding a direct Permission by User, this also did not work. This all worked correctly in the 9.10.2 version and nothing showing on the logs as errors.
Thank you for any suggestions or help.
Well, a Deny permission will always supersede any Allow permissions. Have you reviewed and verified the permissions for the page and user/role to be sure there's not also a deny getting in the way?
If this isn't the case, would you be able to go into more detail on how it's configured? This will help us to better understand how you're applying permissions and maybe even try it on our own to help respond with a fix for you.
Pro Tip: Try to never assign roles to a specific user account. Instead always use a security role, even if it only contains one person. 😎
Hi, thank you for the advise. I did check and looked at the page permissions. I guess in the 15 years of DNN I never really looked at the deny permissions. Somehow they got turned on to deny. This is a handy feature, just was not aware of it. Agin thank you for the quick response and the tips. Alll working well now.
