I would feally like to have a pop up message after I have completed the upgrade from 87.2 to 9.1, but only really want this the first time a user logs in after this is done.

Is there a way to do this?

AFAIK you can only do this with some custom code as you need to write something to the user profile or a custom table.
Unless a cookie approach would be acceptable, which would mean it would be once per device.
In that case you could use one of the GDPR / cookie wall soltions out there.

Just to update, I have sort of got this working by using DNN Announcements on the landing page, which kind of does what i wanted.
