@Matt Rutledge @Olly Hodgson I need the indexing to run so disabling it is not really an option. It's disappointing to see that apparently there's no real solution to this. Scaling down is not something we want to do (because we are using dynamic scaling). Let's see if anyone has any more ideas to fix this.

I think our issues were fairly specific to the OpenContent module (it's been a while) and DNN Software were able to provide an Evoq module which specifically supported Azure. If you're not on Evoq, I'm fairly sure there's 3rd parties who support multi-instance on Azure pretty well - IIRC nBrane do a module for this?

And as Tycho de Waard mentioned, there's plenty of 3rd party search providers which might work better with Azure.

      :O

@Olly...  The links in your post are working!  Did you do anything specific to make that happen?  I've been banging my head against the wall trying to figure this out.  :D

Getting a bit OT here, but I just used the link button in the toolbar. The link to Tycho was copy/pasted. I'm using Chrome 75 with the uBlock Origin extension, FWIW.

And this is with Safari on Mojave.

Well, this phrase should be linked, but it has yet to work for me.    :)

Hmm, but if I paste in a URL using the link tool, without selecting some text first... https://dnncommunity.org/forums/aft/77#408

That confirms it. Don't select any text. Then click the link tool, and paste in a URL. Submit it, and there's no link.

Weirdly though, when you quote the post, the link is there again, so some sort of filtering is happening!

                    New Around Here

                      Hey guys.

I ended up extending the DotNetNuke.Services.Search.SearchEngineScheduler class and adding some logic to the DoWork method to prevent multiple instances running at the same time.

                      Not ideal but it works.
