DNN comes with a little-known magic pill C# upgrade buried away in Available Extensions. If your DNN efforts often have you coding in C#, you may have noticed that the C# you use by default in DNN doesn't have some of the common, modern features available. Find out how CodeDOM 3.6 can get your C# language version from v5.x to v7.3. This gives you over 20 new language features that bring a lot of productivity improvements and expressiveness to the language, making C# code more concise and readable. New feature UniqueKey and major enhancements on Image handling + minor Typed enhancements. 

 

Immediately upon releasing this module, it seems that some of you have already been pushing it's limits. We didn't expect that quite so quickly, so we needed to rush this release out the door. This release helps you support websites with larger numbers of end-users. This makes sense, too. Why would you need such a module, if you didn't have so many user accounts to manage. Well, we listened!  

Today's release of the UpendoDNN Generator brings with it a lot of optimization and technical debt cleanup. I spent a lot of time looking through the recent updates and wanted to clean up a handful of things. Some of them were minor things, but many were a bit more "involved" than that.  

It hasn't been that long since we first announced the release of the brand new user management module for DNN, the Upendo DNN User Manager. We're already releasing a third release. This one mainly has some enhancements to the user creation and editing views.  

This release of the UpendoDNN Generator includes a very specific feature that I wanted to include in the previous release, but timing didn't work out for us. However, today is a different day. As of version 1.10 of the generator, you now only have to make a single version number update, and all other places will be updated for you! 

This month you are invited to an informal Southern Fried DNN Hangout. We'll have a few community announcements, but beyond that, we'll see if anyone has anything to informally share, show-n-tell, etc.
